This is posolutely, absotively your last reminder for Mid Summer Knight's Dream in Smythkepe this weekend. YES! This weekend... Labor Day weekend... Mid Summer Knight's Dream... Smythkepe

We have labored long and hard to bring you, not a day, but a weekend to remember.

We have classes: How to be a Bard, Making a Beltbook, Introduction to List Mistressing (or List Mastering for the men ;) ), an Introduction to Middle Eastern Dance, Healing Properties of Stones, Surviving a Modern Fabric Store, Wire Weaving for Jewelry, Foods you can carry (a discussion of period SCA foods),.

We have Heavy Weapons Fighting: Midnight Boffer Dagger duel, Fledgling Tourney, Gladiator Games, Epic Battles (test your mettle against a variety of Mythical Creatures) and a Loot Tourney.

We have Light Weapons Fighting: the Smythkepe Defender Tourney, a DeGrassi Buckler Tourney, a Fox Hunt, the "Clash of the Chitons" Loot Tourney and the soon-to-be-(in) famous Roman Orgy Tourney !!! No, we're not explaining it here... you have to come to our event to find out what it is. :-P

And you better not miss the Feastus Maximus: Chicken Kreplach , Dates Alexandrine, Garlic Stuffed Roast, Spinach Quiche, and Cherry Cheese tarts, plus pizza on Sunday night (no papa ISN'T making it... our Feastocrat, Amber, is. And she's making it on site, in the kitchen... NOT in some little hut somewhere, so you know it has to be good).

What else do you want? Archery? We'll have that too... both Youth and Adult Archery hosted by Lagerdamm's William Drynok.

Merchants? We have those, too:

All the Trimmimgs, Olivia's Closet, Old World Merchants, Ursula's Adormnents, Pedlar's Pack, Joysains Body Art with Marchant's Caravan, Something to Bragg About, and possibly a few more.

Did I mention the Smythkepe Quest? Our own Seamas MacDhabid presents yet another intriquing quest. He won't say what it is, except that it's guaranteed to keep you Roman around ;)

Site is Rogers Scout Reservation near Ione, AR and opens at 5pm Friday (that's tomorrow!), closes at 11am Monday (Labor Day). Just think: that's up to 66 hours of fun and excitement you can have this weekend. And it's all here on the edge of the Ouachita National Forest, just below the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks. What more could you ask for?

That's this weekend! Mid S mme Knight's D eam.

(Waitaminnit! Something's missing)

U R!

But seriously folks (me? serious?), we'd love to see you this weekend. We have a lot of fun things planned and it's almost impossible to tell you everything here... you simply have to come out and experience what we call "Smythkepe Hospitality". If you don't, we'll have to give your allotment of the fun to somebody else. ;)
