many of the big-box's already have the warehouse and transport systems in
place ... and are starting matching customer donations,  it's likely that f
you went to Sam's and bought a few pallets of something useful, they would
likely match it in goods or donations and might even ship it to a
distribution point (wherever those will be).  if that's the way your group
is thinking, call and inquire.

best bet right now, take the funds and donate directly to red cross .. they
already have providers in place that have pallatized supplies ready to roll,
and they have a much better idea of what is needed at any point in time and
where it's needed.
