[Ansteorra] some info regarding donations

I went on the Web and looked at the Red Cross site. Basically they need
blood and money donations. Unless you buy and donate a pallet of goods,
physical donations and such are helpful during disasters. The rational is
that it takes too long to sort, restore, and funnel individual goods to an
area or event to restock. So, if a group went to Sam's and bought 5
pallets of bottled water -that would be a good donation (keep in mind you
would also have to pay to ship it) but having people donate a couple of
food cans each isn't helpful for them.

If the local group needs something then ask them. For disasters, money
and blood are the best things to provide. Volunteering to go help work at
a local Red Cross will maybe help them free up a trained person who can go
help.

Hopefully, this information will help.
