[Ansteorra] What has happened?

In the Western Region, we seem to have a few failings in the idea of clean
up and respect to people's belongings. I want to say, however, that at
Gothic War this year, I left my purse out in the open in my tent, with the
tent doors open, and it was perfectly fine the entire time. Granted, when
some meddelsome mundanes appeared on site, I went and secured my purse and
my car, but I really have no fear of my things disappearing from my
campsite. Mostly because there's always an honest person sitting at camp. If
there's not, I know about it and secure valuables. As for clean up: I know
that House Corsair, whom I camp with and am a member, always picks up their
site, even in the dog days of summer. (read: AAA) So, unfortunately, I
haven't really observed an unclean site. I've observed trash piled around a
trash can, but as for the beer cans etc that were mentioned, I have not seen
that. We tend to acquire our alcohol at our camp site, and beside where the
alcohol is, there's a trash bag for caps, and cans and bottles.

As for the alcohol issue: Only in the past year and couple of months has it
really been an issue for me because I'm now 22 and started playing when I
was 18 almost 19. In the Western Region from what I've seen, sometimes you
don't even know there's alcohol around unless you really look for it.

Something else as well: I've attended a few CEntral region events, and I'm
sad to say that I really prefer playing in the Western Region. I don't know
why really, but I live in Steppes now, and I really do spend the time,
energy, money/gas to drive all the way out to the West to attend an event
there.

I have to agree with Lady Elizabeth (try not to faint): I have walked across
an entire event site and not a single person asked if they could help me.
Used to, i couldn't get two steps out of my camp site before I was bombarded
with someone wanting to help and wouldn't take no for an answer.

All in all, I think that there are some issues here and there, that if
properly addressed can be fixed to the best of everyone's ability. For
example, at every event, along with a site token, they need to hand out
trashbags. It was a great plan that worked BEAUTIFULLY for A Day in Egypt
that took place in the Western Region back in July. We should gently remind
everyone to drink from mugs and not bottles/cans. (unless it's water
bearing) Sorry if I seem too positive on this issue. I like to believe that
there's good in all people, and a desire to improve themselves and the
environment around them whether it's by saying hi to someone or erecting a
solar powered building for the use of the poor.
