I think the thing that suprises me the most about the entire thing is
their making a point about his having a weapon and they have a mascot
who sports a weapon. I long ago gave up on schools making sense-this
comes from two degrees in education and also having opted to
homeschool-but this is one of those things where you just want to scream
at them that you can't have things both ways. Schools and mascots are
at such a crossroads anyways, my alma mater just changed their mascot
and I'm still a little chagrined by it.

As to senior pictures, I wonder if the school has a clear cut policy
reguarding this or they are trying to apply other policies such as the
'zero tolerance' policy that they don't actually follow. I know that
when I took senior pictures over 20 years ago that we didn't have a
dress code and the pictures were something you paid for and took
separate from the school-I'm guessing the school would take pictures
during the regular yearbook pictures for those who didn't but have no
idea. I know the dress code aspect wasn't there, as mine was wearing a
sweatshirt although I had others in dresses. Having taken a public
relations class for school administrators I'm really supprised that they
let the principal say what he has and am sure that they aren't happy
with him, expecially as saying to include the picture as an add when
they wouldn't allow it as his class picture is just a lame argument.

Thinking about the change in thoughts reguarding weapons, it does remind
me that I no longer see guns in gun racks in all of the trucks driving
around and I can't remember the last time I saw a guy cleaning his nails
with a pocket knife, though both were previlant when I was a kid.

>Plachoya, my friend, If that were the case wouldn't the principal
