I don't know the back-story on that one, but in my experience Sir 
Francois was always the soul of courtesy, and I can't imagine him 
*forcing* someone to take an award she really didn't want. It may 
well have just been schtick. (Don't forget that Meridies is also the 
kingdom that kills off its crowns at the end of every reign, so they 
have lots of practice at schtick. <G>)
