My story is a long one, at least it took a while for me to find the SCA...

I was first introduced to the SCA in Jr. High when a friend of mine
told me she had gone to a really cool event the previous weekend with
her older sister. I so very much wanted to go, too. She never
mentioned it again.

Then, I was about 7 years older when I caught the end of a really
cool program on TV about this war/reenactment thing that happened
every year in Arizona, and I was disappointed that I was currently
living in Michigan. That was while I was still in the Coast Guard.

When I got out, I began hanging around a Gaming Shop in my free
time. My sister mentioned that she and her hubby had discovered this
really cool group who lived the middle ages. The thing I remember is
how it was educational, non-profit, and something to do with pancakes. GRIN

I mentioned this group at the game shop, and they all smiled
knowingly and invited me to come to populace meeting the next day. I
was impressed by a Laurel who was sitting there and naalbinding a hat
for her hubby, who is Earl Raynard in our illustrious kingdom.

My first event was only a few weeks later, and I have been hooked ever since.
