Heilsa,

Words have flown
Sometimes swifter than Combat Arrow
Between Cousins
Though I am not of Rank
I thought to add a few of mine own
To that which has already flown
Summer Rules now – And Her Reign
Has been Mild –
Yet Words have Not
Trumpets has sounded and War declared
One side claims to wish a Test
Other side claims no Test is Require
That One seeks mere excuse to gain Lands
Warnings of Expansion abound
Rewards - food and drink
While glory is to be had
Which do You seek?
Or finds suitable to Taste
How many does it require to take up arms?
At least 2 Face Off
Which is to be Feared?
Which is the Foe?
To faced the Foe - feared and Known
All before who face such –
Have Fallen - regardless of their Skill
All within this Kingdom and Out
Yet the Call to Arms have gone forth again
Measure of Time - Beyond Count
As reckon by Means
Some by Hand and Pen –
Others by Celestial
Heavenly Bodies above both
Witness this contest of Might and Will
It is neither Right nor Wrong –
Just Nature of Man
Yet it will always come –
Another Call to Rally
Time means nothing
The Foe, whose patience
Measured beyond of Job
For that is what it will Take
The Foe will win no matter the number
All efforts have come to naught in the past
For many have try - to end with less than desire
At best an uneasy truce
Tasks and Methods beyond Memory
Some adopted to became more
All in the Main Tapestry of Our Lives
Point that These are Standard
Again Measure by Time
Still Efforts continue to Rise Above
Seek out those that have not been Tested
Only through the Fire
Heat of the Forge
Known as Experience –
Later - Wisdom
To produce that which might stand before
Will Yield that which None has seen before
To confront the Foe
Reduce the Foe to once again
Which could be laughably call - Tamed
We who have endured the Yoke
Be it on the Practice Yard
Be it on Tournament Field
The Battlefield, where even
Great Warlord Murphy must bend a knee
To this Foe - though at times
Becomes Murphy greatest Ally
Fields of Labor know the Foe well
Felt more keening than Others
To this Might Foe - all have bend the Knee
>From the highest to lowest
They say bring forth new means
And renew the Test before One and All
As Time moves forward
Measured by Above
Foe who owns fealty only to One
Queen of Summer - who now Rules
Who Must give away before that of
King of Winter - months away
Yes, the greatest Foe - meets defeat for short time
Is what makes us at times glad
Other times wishing it away
Foe - be thy Name, –
HEAT!

Remember to Drink Water both before going to Gothic Wars, while there
and at any other event and/or practice!

Ld Michael Kettering
