Unto my most Noble Cousin Armand Dragonetti, Baron of Elfsea, do I Baron 
Donnchadh Beag mac Griogair send greetings.

My good cousin, in the past weeks I have heard your upcoming plans to 
test the security of our western borders met with dark rumors of a power 
hungry quest for lands.  I must admit, that I myself was at first 
brought in by these rumors and spoke out against your plans.  For this I 
offer my humble apologies.

In the past weeks, I have heard council from those in whom I trust, and 
have had time to judge these rumors in contrast with your honorable 
actions in the past.  There is also the issue of the troubles that time 
after time rear their ugly head in the West.  In light of all this, I 
can only come to the conclusion that you truly have the good of the 
Kingdom in mind. 

It is my sincere hope that your fears concerning our good cousin Kainin 
are wrong, but I can not let my hopes endanger the security of the 
Kingdom.  I have therefore decided to join you in testing HE Kainin's 
defense of the lands in the west.  If HE Kainin can show, through this 
test, that he is indeed capable of defending our western borders, so 
much the better.  But if not, then it is much better that this weakness 
is discovered by friends, then by the next band of foes who would attack 
our fair Kingdom.  I have charged my men to make ready for the march to 
the West that we may put these fears to rest once and for all.
