I just realized I may have been missing something in
the "garden weeding" idea.
I have been looking at it solely from the idea of
"Well I/we don't think that so-and-so should be king
so I/we are going to knock this guy out of the
competition" direction. A "better me than him"
perspective. I have a bad tendency to think of
fighters as being all about the more brutal and
ambitious aspects of our society and that poor
thinking is definitely reflected in the direction I
was looking from. I apologize for that. I guess maybe
I need to take more time to actually talk to some of
those fighters and get to know them rather than going
It just occurred to me that "garden weeding" could in
fact also be a way of paving the way for someone who
is an awesome administrator and of extraordinary
service to the Kingdom and of great talent but has
less than extraordinary martial prowess.
I am not sure if that is any better or worse than the
idea I had before that I found to be a bitter pill but
it does kind of apply a salve for it to me.
