I would think, but I'm not a lawyer, that as long as the carrying of
the weapon was during an SCA activity, it's fine. As part of a
Halloween costume, not so much. In an SCA activity you are an amateur
historian, in a costume for Halloween(or any other modern costumed
event) you are just another citizen in a costume.
