I concur with Don Robin.
I am a fighter. I serve in the exact manner that you list.
But I gotta say ... I do enjoy the eye candy in the kitchen when the
shirtless men folk fighters do the cleaning. :D

*Once*? Fighters have autocrated Twelfth Night, Kingdom A&S, King's
College, Heraldic Symposium, Kingdom Eisteddfod, etc.
At Twelfth Night in Steppes Elfsea last weekend, the chef was a Count; the
kitchen crew included at least one other fighter; the air conditioning unit
was fixed by a fencer / rattan fighter; the bardic entertainment was
arranged by a Don and a Duke / Knight / Don and included performances by a
knight and a Don / Centurion; the two heralds for the main court were a Don
/ Centurion and a Knight, the dishwashers were a mass of Centurions; and
one of the autocrats was a cadet and the site coordinator was a cadet. The
guy in charge of security was a fencer / rattan fighter. That's just off
the top of my head.
The fighters are no less (or more) a part of the work crew than any other
class. This is a volunteer organization, and we are *all* volunteers.
Robin of Gilwell / Jay Rudin, fighter who has autocratted several
non-fighter events
