Some here in Ansteorra might know this Aten gentle from our early days of
being part of Atenveldt. The name is vaguely familiar to me from reading
records of the principality or perhaps stories folks have told me.
If you knew him or not, say a prayer for his family.

those that have touched our lives in any manner. Your decision to post this

There is nothing good about it.
Yesterday morning, an old, very dear friend, Ed Hirt died of a heart
attack while driving his truck.
He apparently he was able to pull off the road and park. Police found
him a bit later.
He had been living in South Carolina for a number of years.

Ed went by the name 'Aengus mac coll' in SCA and was active in Tir
Yisgthr and Atenveldt
during the 70's and 80's. To many of that era he was also know as 'Unka
Wu' , Doc
Stewart, 'Thunderpud' and other names. It all depended on which facet
of his
personality you happened to run into that day. :-)

He served as baronial seneschal of Atenveldt for a time in the early
80's and was a very
talented musician and composer. It was my absolute good fortune to
meet and work
with Ed when he was sheriff for Estrella 3...... or maybe 4. We became
good friends
and were part of the 'JB's Back Porch' crowd in the 80's.

To most of you, this is just a name, so I hope you don't mind my rambling.
For those of you who knew Ed, I apologize that you have to 'hear' this
news via an e-mail.
