It also allows the person who can not attend event for one reason or another to give service to the kingdom and feel like they are helping in some way.
I have painted on and off for years for that very reason.

agree with you Rose. Though they are pre-printed, each is a small work of art,
nique and wonderful in the details and creativity of the painter. I can see
reating original work for grant level awards and higher, but for the others I
hink that the system we have now works well. I also like the way that the
ainter's name is read in court. Even a beginner can get recognition for an
arly work well done. That encourages them to continue to improve their craft. I
ried painting and actually began one charter, but found I just didn't have the
ime required to dedicate to the craft. I admire and respect all of those who
o. Thanks to all of you!

I just finished painting my first scroll and I was very, very nervous about
t. There is no way that I ever would have gotten up the nerve to put paint to
he paper if it were hand-printed, much less an original work.
I am very, very glad that we do this the way that we do and I think that my
oA is lovely and wonderful, and I'm glad that I live in a Kingdom where I got
he scroll when I got the award, and not a long wait later. :)

who had a great time painting and will be painting many more...
