Salut cozyns,

Don't hold Sir Dieterich responsible, dear lady. By the cur's own  
admission, Hanse somehow finagled documentation of Arms from Miguel  
and has since been acting as a free agent. This betting scheme is  
apparently the latest example of that free agency.

Such are the ills visited upon good society when you teach peasants to  
read and count.
