When you try to make "everyone happy" you will succeed in making no one
happy. Because everyone's "happy" is as personal as they are.

I am old with bad knees and I'm fat. I don't go to events with an
expectation of being necessarily comfortable. I expect to be bug-bit and
sticky and hot (or freezing cold) and I expect to have a hard time walking
on the uneven ground. I expect to also smell fresh (if humid) air; see the
play of sunlight and shadow as clouds dapple the fighters and to see people
getting a chance to exercise what is increasingly rare and precious...namely
doing what they want to do with as few restrictions as possible.

Put forward your solutions...but be ready to know that there are others to
whom your "solution" is not **their** answer. I have spent 32 years working
in a building with no windows. Hot or not, I cherish the opportunity to be
outdoors. If I've gotten too warm, I've gotten in my car in the parking lot
with the AC on and cooled off. If I had kids, I'dd bring a pool to cool them
off in (as I've seen our new Prince and Princess do on several
occasions....I believe someone somewhere has a picture of me *in garb* in
the pool with the kids). I know one woman who comes to events with a
water-cooled vest under her garb...neat idea and for her a medical
necessity. If there is *anyone* who should argue for indoor events, it would
be her....and I've never once heard her even suggesting it.

We have had indoor events and even had fighting indoors....for myself, it
has always ...been wrong somehow...Medieval people lived an outdoor life,
much more than we do...and being outside, under the sun and moon, seems to
be...right somehow...

I, for one, would be forever saddened if our fighting were to move indoors
because of the heat.
