<shrug> Ansteorrans have been fighting in the summer heat since
before there *was* an Ansteorra. Is it worth pointing out that for
many, many years, it was Queen's Champion that was fought in the
worst of the summer heat--late July or early August--and that rapier
gear is, if anything, even hotter than what's worn on the armored
field. Yet I can recall only *once* when a summer Queen's was fought indoors.

But realistically, how much of a safety issue is this? As I
understand things, we had *one* fighter withdraw from Crown because
he was getting overheated, and I recall one person complaining on
this list because she thought it was too hot that day. But many more
people spoke out against moving Crown to an indoor venue. That does
not sound to me like there's an overwhelming need to move the entire
event indoors.
