If you say so. But by that logic kids in the SCA should be insisting 
on wearing their jeans and T-shirts, not dresses and tunics at events.

Granted, but neither were the kids and adults in the SCA before the 
early 1990s. Somehow we managed to survive and keep ourselves entertained.

To be honest, I've no idea. At a guess, I'd say they weren't, and 
were babysat by older siblings or servants of some sort.

And dolls, stick-horses, and other toys or games... and I've seen SCA 
kids doing the same thing. I've *never* seen the necessity of "let's 
keep the kids busy during court by having them watch the latest Disney video."
