Actually, he was just processing slow enough for people to think he
wasn't talking.  It was the blow, not his vow, that kept him from
responding while on the ground.

After getting home, he went back to the doctor, and a slight
concussion was diagnosed.  He currently has had the stitches out and
is well on his way to Avery's "normal".
