[Ansteorra] Same-Sex Consorts

Technically, both terms "Renaissance" and "Age of Enlightenment" are  
19th Century constructs. No one living in Quattrocento Italy or  
Elizabethan England considered themselves part of  a Renaissance. Both  
considered themselves post-Medieval, however. Read Loves Labour's Lost  
or Don Quixote, f'r instance, or the writings of Petrarch, if you want  
the Italian take. All saw the Middle Ages as a past barbaric time.
