You bring up the Rapier ban in the West as justification for your argument,
which clearly shows a lack of understanding of why the ban went into place.
Rapier was banned in the West because the crown did not feel the activity
was safe as it was being done at the time and requested the principals of
that community work with the KEM to put proper safety rules in place. When
that wasn't done they banned it pending the proper rules and safety
considerations being put in place. That particular King happens to be an
authorized rapier fighter now.

You are using an issue that happened as a result of a  safety concern to
counter someone's argument about culture. It doesn't really work.
