This is an interesting "what if".  It immediately reminded me of S. M.
Stirling's "Dies The Fire" Trilogy.  It's another "what if" tale with the
whole world plunged into a bewildering event that causes electronics.
engines, gunpowder, phones and other modern day conviences to fail.  People
must learn to cope using the old ways.  The SCA group is used in the
book...not going to say more 'cause it would spoil the tale!
