Siglo de Oro- The Age of Gold
Join the Barony of Bryn Gwlad as we choose our Chivalric, Rapier, and
Equestrian Champions from the assembled combatants.
Marvel at the glory of Ansteorra displayed in full procession into morning
court. Each combatant must process with an artist, a creator of some lovely
object to be added to the prizes of the day. The Baron and Baroness
respectfully request an attempt at Spanish art. Letters of Intent are not
required.
Banners, pennants, and heraldic displays to delight the eye are
specifically called for, with a small prize for the best decorated
list-side pavilion. An Heraldic Scavenger Hunt appropriate for all ages
will take place during the day. Prizes will be awarded for speed and
accuracy of the eye. If you would like to join in the Heraldic Scavenger
Hunt by displaying your banner and singing off on bingo cards, please
contact the event steward at catalina at ravenkeep.org as soon as possible.
There will be a fine gaming tourney in the classically Spanish game of
chess. This tourney is sponsored by Goldweard of St Golias and he can be
contacted at naturemakeswell at gmail.com for more information.
An Arts & Sciences salon will be held in a comfortable shady spot.
Artisans who would like to discuss their current or future project are
encouraged to bring a chair and a drink and spend the day in good company.
There is also going to be a small display of 'oops' objects by artists
well-known in their fields, proving that time and practice really do pay
off. Lecture classes will also occur and the forge will be hot in the

Our feast is being prepared by the well-known HL Sosha Lyons O'Rourke who
has taken many pains with the menu. Currently there are a mere 120 tickets
available at the door.
1st Remove:
Grapes, sweat pears, cheese,
2nd Remove
salad greens, Spanish love apples and bread
3rd remove
Beef with leek soup, roasted duck with an apricot lemon chutney over a
savory pilaf
4th remove:
Sweet and slightly spiced peaches with cream.
For those with food allergies or digestive issues, No substitutions will be
made to the feast. Please plan accordingly.
HL Moira is seeking feast servers for the event. Please contact her if you
are able to help.
In the evening after Court there will be a Masquerade Ball in the dance
hall. Everyone is encouraged to attend in mask and costume. If Spooky
Stories are more desired, a bardic circle will occur close by to mystify
and distract the listeners. Between the two will be a well-stocked
hospitality pavilion, open to everyone. Chairs are recommended.
Merchants are welcome on the site. Please provide your own period pavilion
and tables as we do not have any spares. There is no merchant fee, however
in order to make sure we have enough room please contact the event steward
ahead of time.
