The almost Archery Patron, Baron of Elfsea "Where Life is Good" Galen of
Bristol requests:

>Start with me. What's archery etiquette?

Archery Etiquette are rules for good behavior on and near the archery field
by both archers and spectators. These are the most common ones I can think
of.

1. Enter an archery field only at the entrence. Do not step over safety
boundry ropes and walk across the range.

2. Before entering the field read all sighs posted at the entrance. If you
do not understand something, wait tell the archers are not on the firing
line to ask the marshal.

3. Do not bother the marshal while he is watching the archers shoot. He is
watching to make sure that the shoot procedes safely. You may speak with
the archery marshal when archers are not on the line.

4. Spectators and archers not on the line shooting should be as quite as
possible so as not to disturb the archers on line. When the archers are
finished shooting normal talking may resum.

5. Archers on line should refame form disturbing the other archers on line.
However; if all on the line agree, talking , etc may occur.

6. No unattended children. The archery range is open to all; however, it
is not a day care center.

7. In the event of an unsafe act, any one may call "HOLD".

8. No running on the range.

9. Do not remove some elses arrows from a target but unless acked to do so
by the owner of the arrows.

10. When gleaning arrows from the field, pick up all arrows you come to,
not just your own. They can be sorted out onthe way back to the line.

You'd be surprized how many folks will try that number 1 even when the range
is active.
