I could not disagree more with what Gilli said... truly!

It does not follow, that higher Kingdom scores will lead to many more people
shooting and enjoying archery. Just as it does not follow that Duke
Bellatrix moving to your Barony means that more people will be out and
enjoying armored combat. Duke Bellatrix moving in by himself does nothing
to armored combat. He could not play, he could only train select squires in
his back yard, etc.

If he was an active, friendly, welcoming and warm teacher, willing to help
people overcome problems to enjoy armored combat so that they could
understand what he loves about it, then he could make an incredible
difference on a Barony (as he did in Caer Mear, Atlantia, when he moved
there in fact).

If instead he were isolationist, caring about you only if you were striving,
currently, to win Crown, then he could be an active detractor from the
enjoyment of the sport.

I truly feel that this is what the bible-thumping about IKAC and IKCAC
scores is doing. We as a community should care that people are shooting,
not that they are shooting for score. Some people do not enjoy competition,
but I'm sure they would enjoy archery.

In short, there is more to archery to IKAC and IKCAC, and those other parts
: the sheer enjoyment of the activity, are more important than scoring it
and turning it into a sport.
