ARCH - Combat bolt question...

1. While the rules do state that UHMW is legal on wood shafted arrows,
I have not tried this, but will. I may change the wording on this to state
that UHMW is only legal on fiberglass.
2. UHMW does not need a stop in the head between the shaft and the
UHMW. You will not get a punch through with these heads.
3. 28 inches is the max length for both arrows and bolts the average
bolt length is 16 inches. But this should be adjusted to balance with your
crossbow.

Subject: ARCH - Combat bolt question...
Good Morning,
I sat down and read the Participants Handbook tonight. There were
many
things I was confused by, not the least of which were in the
archery
section.
The three I can think of right now are:
1) I thought UHMW could only be done with fiberglass. It states
that
wood is acceptable. Am I just confused?
2) While I understand the need for a stop in the heads, I didn't
think
the head in the UHMW arrows I have is a 1 1/4" stop. I thought
they
were bored out with a much smaller stop put into them. Am I
just
confused?
3) The only mention of length of shafts is of 28". Does this mean
both
arrows and crossbow quarrels? That seems a bit odd.
Thanks for clarifying these things!
Ciao,
