[Ansteorra-archery] New To The List....

If combat archery is all you want to do, just shoot at folks, that can be
handled. But they will still have to authorize you, but it a bit
abbreviated. However, should you wish to be able to draw a secondary weapon
and argue the point of your death, then a full combat authorization is
required.

They're going to want to make sure you can get out there without getting
hurt. They'll make sure you know how to coverup in case you have to.
They'll make sure you know the rules of engagement. What to do in the event
of a "hold".

And you'll still need the armor. Things can happen on the field. It's a
protecting thing. Sometimes inertia is just too hard to overcome and SMACK
you get hit with something. It's best to have armor on. Or perhaps you
get hit with an arrow and before you can get out of the way a charge rolls
up your position. That's why you need to be able to coverup if need be.

Talk with your local authorizing marshal. He / she can get you through it.
