Good Morning,

At the upcoming Bryn Gwlad Championship (11/7-9), Baron Thomas of Tenby
will be having guests from all of the Known World. This includes visiting
royalty in the body of King Henry VIII and his six wives. There are
many activities planned for the day, but this missive is just with
  regards to the Archery tournament.

His Excellency Thomas has approved the following format for the
archery portion of the event. The tournament is tentatively scheduled
for 1pm. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to
  contact:

Myself - Master Pug - pug at pug.net
BG Archery Marshal - Lord Charles McKinnon - ldcharles at ev1.net
Autocrats - Lady Phoebe Saint Micheal - st_phoebe at hotmail.com
                   - Lady Catalina Ana de Salamanca - catalina at ravenkeep.org

General information
Archers will be chosen randomly as to who they face in a round
Crossbow and Longbow archers will face each other on equal ground
All archers must stand unless there is a physical need for them to sit
All archers must shoot cold - no practice at the line before the tournament
Distance to the targets will be at unannounced intervals each round
Double elimination with winner and loser bracket
Winner of the winner's bracket must lose twice when facing winner
      of loser's bracket
Winner of loser's bracket only has to lose once when facing winner
      of winner's bracket

Head-to-head competitions
  String shoot
3 arrows with shortest distance around
  Wand/slot shoot
6 arrows with most in the slot
  Checkerboard shoot
6 arrows must hit your own color to score
Repeat in above order as needed

Elimination competitions - anytime odd number of archers remaining in a bracket
Used instead of having a 'buy' archer
  1 arrow each
Any and all arrows not in the target, the archer is eliminated
If all arrows are in the target, the archer with the arrow furthest
    from the center is eliminated

Final round - both brackets and final
  William Tell
    Foam apple w/ balloon head
Most arrows in the apple wins round
Up to 6 arrows with archers taking turns
Archer may choose to pass their turn, but once an arrow is passed
you can't decide to re-shoot it
Popping the balloon forces you to stop shooting
If no score by either archer, re-shoot the round

Ciao,
