sorry if some people get this posted twice, but i posted it about 3 hrs ago, and never saw it come out on the list . so i'm reposting it.
thanx
GREETINGS

WELL THE MOST SOLID BACKSTOP I KNOW OF IS MADE FROM PIECES OF LUMBER, THEY BUILT A WALL AND BRACED IT UP, THEN COVERED THE TARGET SIDE WITH SCRAP CONVEYOR BELT, AND BUILT A SHELF IN FRONT OF IT , TO SET HAY BALES ON, AND SIDE WALLS TO HOLD THE HAY IN FROM THE SIDES, AND SAFETY.
UNFORTUNATELY , IT STARTS TO GROW" HAIR" AFTER IT RAINS.
AND IT TAKES A LOT OF HAY TO FILL THE WALL,AND HAY ONLY LASTS ABOUT 3 TO 4 MONTHS BEFORE IT STARTS TO BREAK DOWN IN THE WEATHER .

AS FOR THE STOP NETS ,
F&S NETS ARE ONLY GOOD TO 50# BOWS
F&S SHOWS 10'X10' = $127.00
10' X 30' =361.95
10' X 50' =571.50 ALL PLUS S&H.

NEW ENGLAND CAMP SHOWS A 10' H. X 30'W =$255.00 +S&H&TX.
OR CUSTOM MADE 10'H X YOUR LENGTH, FOR .85 PER SQ.FT.

AND THAT'S THE ONLY ONES THAT SIZE I FOUND AFTER GOING THRU OVER 40 ARCHERY WEB SITES.

I WOULD SAY DIRT WORKS BEST , BUT IT DEPENDS ON YOUR LOCATION, AND HOW EXPENSIVE BULLDOZER TIME IS ..

HOPE THE INFO HELPS.
BE SAFE, BE HAPPY, HAVE FUN

GREETINGS

i just had a different idea ...
possibly cheaper..
can anyone find free styrofoam blocks, large, ( like they used to pack motorcycles in ) ( or like they use to float docks) ???
if so , then you could build a double wall out of styrofoam and fill the middle with dirt.
if you bury the bottom 6" or so of styrofoam it should stay put .
after the dirt settles,( add water ) you should be able to remove / replace damaged sections without the dirt falling out .

just a thought
be safe, be happy, have fun
