You are correct.  Yellow has been prohibited SCA wide on combat 
arrows/bolts for about two years.  Yellow is reserved for siege weapons 
ammo which MUST have yellow.

The reason behind this is that when a fighter got hit by a large golf 
tube or siloflex projectile if  they didn't see who shot it then they 
didn't know how to call it.  Shields don't stop siege ammo, etc.

So, siege ammo has got to be marked with yellow.

There are no other colors prohibited on combat archery ammo.
