greetings

don't forget that the away score is not a requirement for childrens scores to count towards their average.

We have to remember that the SCA RR Scores is not a complete indicator of how the Archery Community is doing and it should never be presented that it is. Many people do not shoot RR scores and have no interest in them, many people shoot one once in awhile but since they must have 3 of them in a 12 month period and 1 of them MUST be an away score there are many people that do not show up on the list. I know of a number of Archers that are very good but are not on the list and have not been for several years.

Now with that being said, I do like to shoot RRs:-) I do not get to do it as often as I would like but I still enjoy them.

The reports from the Archery marshals and from the Event MICs are a better indicator than the RRs. The RRs are a tool to help us see how we are progressing and to see how we compare with some of the other archers that we do not always get to shoot against.

There are, and have been local groups that are Excellent in their
youth programs. It just doesnt show up in our SCA SCORES
page. Perhaps all we need to do is document the participation via
    youth Royal Round scoring process?

Admittedly there are rather few participants and I agree we can do more to recruit the children. On the other hand we have quite a few wee folk participate in archery at the events I frequent. I think local marshals are doing a pretty good job though and I would like to give them props for all they are doing to bring in new blood.
