[Ansteorra-archery] Marshal Sash Idea

The reason I mentioned the cord is that it would be reasonably visible, and pendant can get lost also. I tend to wear something that I can throw on in the morning and then not worry about. I've lost pendants and things on the fighting fields.

I still tell them though that they should have a Marshaling staff of some sort out on the range with them at all times though. I would be afraid of a sash getting caught up in my clothes whenever I was doing a throw and/or a shoot. Just my two cents!!!

> I think the point to latch on to with this sash idea is that we are expanding the already existing precedent of the white/yellow or black/yellow stripes that generally signify a marshal on a rapier, chivalric, or melee field. ?Most non-archery marshals don't wear a full-out black and yellow tabbard. ?However, they do generally carry a striped staff which allows people to visually identify them as marshals (it also helps keeps fighters within the boundaries). ?Since archery marshals generally don't require a shepherd's hook, a visual indicator --the sash-- will be sufficient to expand the "I'm a marshal" precedent. ?Too, few people wear striped sashes. ?That in and of itself would set a marshal apart from the usual event or archery range attendee.

My idea is a sash striped yellow and black like a marshal staff. There can be something different to mark the marshal in charge and any marshals in training.
