This weekend at Bryn Gwlad we will discuss three
options regarding organization.

1. Do nothing.
2. Form a guild as a sub-set of the Ansteorran Guild
of European Dancers (AGED) .
3. Form our own Kingdom Guild. Atached are a draft
charter and by-laws to be discussed if we choose the
final option.

Should we chose options 2 or 3, we should nominate
guild heads this weekend and decide upon a voting
event for the guild head and the charter.

I would like to thank AGED for the use of their
bylaws/charter as a "go-by" and specifically
(soon-to-be Master) Phillip White for his support and
advice.

In Service,
Clara von Ulm

AMED Charter

encourage the Middle Eastern dance community of
Ansteorra. This shall be accomplished by facilitating
communication between the dancers of Ansteorra and
promoting the teaching and learning of Middle Eastern
Dance.

AMED shall encourage the dissemination of factual
information regarding SCA period Middle Eastern dance.
AMED shall strive to increase the knowledge and
awareness of ethnic dance styles. AMED shall strive to
assist groups without local dance teachers by
scheduling class days at local events to provide
opportunities for these groups to learn.

The Guild Head (AMED al-Basir) will be elected by the
members of the guild annually at an AMED Guild
meeting. The AMED al-Basir shall be responsible for
overseeing the goals, assisting in their
accomplishment, and facilitating communication between
guild members.

interested in Middle Eastern dance in the SCA time
period. One becomes a member by sending one’s SCA and
mundane name, address and/or e-mail address to the

same information to the AMED al-Basir at an assembled
meeting of the AMED guild.

AMED Guild meetings shall be held at least once per
year. Meetings must take place at a Kingdom Calendar
event and shall be announced at least two (2) months
in advance via the Black Star and electronic
communication. This guild shall be governed by a set
of by-laws. These by-laws may be changed by a
two-thirds vote of the assembled members of the guild,
including absentee ballots. By-laws may only be
changed at an AMED Guild meeting. Proposed by-law
changes shall be published electronically at least two
(2) months prior to the AMED meeting.
