As reported by a marshal who witnessed the incident, the archer involved was shooting straight down the bridge and when the fighters he was shooting at moved to the side, dodging the arrow, it hit the fighter that was standing behind them, which was the fighter without the helm. The archer (and marshal who witnessed it)involved had no way of seeing him until after the arrow was shot, because he was behind the other fighters. I have no idea why the fighter would stand there when there is combat archery going on. He was standing directly (a distance behind, but in a straight line)behind the fighters on one side of the bridge. Let me know if that doesn't make sense, since it's hard to describe via email.

Someone else just brought up a good point, that we also need to make certain we do have good safety zone/boundaries when we use CA, which is already stated in the Society rules. In this instance the fighter was 40 to 60 paces from the nearest sideline, so that was not a problem at this event. The kingdom marshals where this occurred did receive a complete report and they did/will be taking what steps they feel neccessary in this situation.
