No, I'm not advocating a different set of ammo for armored combat versus 
rapier.  The 1/2" society standard applies to both types of combat, so I 
didn't see it as an actual safety issue.  I also thought a gorget was 
part of the standard rapier armor.  It was checked for when I went to 
play with them at BAM.  I wouldn't want to get shot in an unarmored 
throat, period, whether there was 1" or 1/2" of padding on the tip.

So as I understand it, the reason we have had a 1" rule is specifically 
for rapier CA.  What are the other kingdoms using for rapier CA?  If 
there is a safety issue with 1/2" blunts, shouldn't that be changed at 
society level?
