Fair enough.  Frankly, I can't keep track of where Kief is and isn't.  I'd
have said the same thing if he was here.  If I raised this point on the
White Scarf list, I'd accept your criticism.  However, this is an open list
and I'm discussing a matter of Kingdom Marshallate policy.  If I leveled a
similar criticism at one of Dr. Bill's policies, or Artimis' behavior, would
you be so quick to leap to their defense?

As I said previously, I intend to speak to Kief about this at my next
opportunity.  I do, however, believe in getting my facts straight before
doing so.  In asking whether anyone else was annoyed by the wording on the
card, I was making certain I wasn't the only person who found it so.  If
everyone had said, "lighten up" or "nope, we're fine with it", that would
have been that.  Now that I know there are some other people who object to
this, I feel better pursuing such things.  Through channels.

Robert, I think you see an attack where one is not intended.  I believe you
confuse my questioning of a decision made by the Earl Marshal with a
personal attack on Sir Kief.  Your defense of your friend is laudable,
albeit, in my opinion, a bit more assertive than necessary.  If I raise a
question about the feelings of a group of people regarding a particular
policy, find that I am not alone in these feelings and further explain why I
feel the way I do to address specific questions, how does this precisely
constitute an attack?

For what it's worth, I hold Sir Kief in extremely high regard.  He's a true
knight, a tireless worker, and a highly effective Earl Marshal.  His
nobility and honor are without question in my opinion.  He is a friend to my
Lady Wife, and to my home Barony of Bjornsborg.  I assure you, whatever
disagreement I may have with his choice of words on something as petty as an
authorization card does not diminish my regard for him in the least.

Did I say "I think Kief is a terrible person because he put something I
think is silly on the authorization card?".  No.  I said, I find the current
wording annoying.  I asked if anyone else felt the same way.  I found out I
was not alone.  It occurred to me that if a large number of people feel the
same way, then something might need to be done about it.

But only through the proper channels.
