[Ansteorra-rapier] Cloak play question

Lord Gassion,

Not only is it effective to throw a cloak at, on, over
or toward an opponent, but it is a period technique
and a lot of fun to do and observe when done. The
only times a hold should be called when a cloak is
used is when the cloak is entangled or covers the face
for more than a couple of seconds. There are only two
defensive items that are allowed to touch your
opponent. The dagger and the cloak (rondello bucklers
should be included, but falls into a corp to corp
catogory and can not be considered safe although it is
a period technique). The cloak is the ONLY item that
can be thrown in defense.

Although I am sure in a tavern tourney or the like the
occasional rubber chicken, light weight prop type
plate or mug, candle stick, chinese yo-yo, or whatever
else comes to the imagination could also happen to fly
through the air...lol. Oops... did I type that with
my outside fingers?

Always remember the "C" in SCA!

In Service,

Lord Sebastiana

P. S. Hope to see some of you at Protectorate this
weekend!
