It hasn't been cut altogether.  You're welcome to use it in "armour as worn" 
tounements, if you meet the requirements Dore posted.  It's the only way 
you'll get to take advantage of them correctly anyway.  Just make sure the 
MIC allows them to be proof from damage during blade grabs.

I'd rather use them the way they were intended, so this ruleing is good 
IMHO.
