Rapier fighters of Ansteorra! Time to begin preparing for Queen's Champion!

In just over five weeks, the Barony of Loch Sollier will be hosting Queen's
Champion Tourney for (then) HRM Ebergardis von Zell. The summer heat is
ending and events and tournaments are picking up. That means it's time to
knock the rust off and sharpen those skills! Get in all the practice you
can, but as is commonly said: "Fighting in a single tournament is worth ten
practices."

There are precious few events with rapier tournaments in which to get such
experience before Queens. This weekend, Oct. 8-10, the Shire of Gate's Edge
presents the Celtic Harvest Festival and Royal Huntsman Tournament, at Camp
Camwood in Hockley, TX. We will have as many rapier fighting tournaments as
we can pack into the day! The weather should be outstanding, so we should be
able to fight all day.

Ld. Brian O'hUliam is the current Rapier Champion, but will be unable to
attend. I will be running multiple tournaments. One will be a Swiss Five
format, the others will be determined on the number of entrants. But there
will be plenty of fighting for everyone. How many tournaments will we end up
having? As many as we can! If we have enough fighters, I'd like to have
three tournaments, the winner of each doing a round-robin to determine who
will be the next Rapier Champion for the Shire of Gate's Edge.

There will be various prizes from Darkwood Armory and HL Anne Barrington as
well as others for the tourney winners.

So bring your gear, enjoy the sun and cool weather, fight, learn, teach, and
show your prowess, honor, and courtesy!

In service and honor,

Don Corvin Fenarro
