Bards - Samhain Collegium

I am looking forward to Samhain.  I would love to learn something about
memorizing things!!!  I am wanting to do a song for Beltane, but I am
having the hardest time memorizing the lyrics.  I do well at putting a
story together at the spur of an itch, but if I have to know it by
heart....Argh!!!  

I would love to see something about the make up of "period" bardic so I
can come up with some of my own.
