I just got back from WW and I get to be the first to announce this:

King Felix and Queen Maddalena of the Middle Kingdom held Their Bardic
Champion competition last night before Court at Warriors and Warlords XI.
Seven wonderful performers regaled Their Majesties and an enthralled
audience. After much deliberation, THL Christian d'Hiver, of
Nordskogen/Tor Aerie in Northshield, was chosen as the new Bard of the
Midrealm! Congratulations, my friend. Would you be interested in posting
the lyrics to your new piece? I think a lot of people would like to see it.

There have been other Bards of the Midrealm chosen by Royal fiat, but
according to Owen, this was the first Bard of the Midrealm _competition_
since A.S. mumble-mumble, when Tsivia was chosen. I won't give the
ballpark timeframe he mentioned, but according to my calculations, Owen
wasn't in the SCA yet, and I was enjoying preschool very much. This was
definitely the first BoM contest held in Northshield, ever. Can anyone on
Pbardic flesh out the history of the Bard of the Midrealm? Tsivia?
Swiftrunner?

I am showered, partly unpacked, and my sopping wet tent is drying on my
balcony and probably about to get rained on again. I don't care. I'm
going to take myself and my mosquito bites to bed and catch up on sleep
(got about 11 hours total between Thursday and today) and dream about all
the incredible songs and poems and stories I heard this weekend. Tomorrow
I have a torrent of thank-yous that I will unleash on the Northshield
Bardic College list. But first, sleep.

Oh yes, and Cerian, post lyrics, please. You know which one. Both lists.
