Well said, Robert.
Yah; there's a lot of "unhoned" talent out there. However, I'm personal
witness to an individual who used to be considered unable to carry a tune in
a bucket who does a rather passable job now. Will they be getting a job
with the Houston Symphony Chorus anytime soon? Probably not, but a desire
to be better and the willingness to put the effort (read "Practice!") into
it, will help someone who may be a ruby in the rough.
In service to the dream with a song in my heart, I am,
HL Gerald of Leesville
A bard of Stargate
========================
Bad bards are one of those things that we all know exist but seldom
talk about. And I've certinly seen a few circles killed by a few really bad
performers who had no idea how bad they were. And to be honest I'm sure
I've been guilty of a few excruciating performances in my time.
Nobody wants to be the bad guy and tell them how bad they are. I don't.
