I just found out that the movie Beowulf is NOT Beowulf....
   
  It's the Neil Gaiman comic of the same name,which I've never heard of.
It's probably quite brilliant....

  No wonder they cast Angelina Jolie as Grendl's Mother.

I remember Leslie Fish's take on Grendel's mother: it's quite amusing.  The
refrain goes:

"Son, I'm sure you would be sorry if you weren't so very dead,
But you never listened to a word I said."
