Evidently, he did do either a comic or a story called Beowulf, and that's what is being adapted. I'm investigating further, but am really bummed, as I'm starting to really work hard on the Anglo-Saxon stuff. (Alliteration doesn't make me cry, unlike Iambic Pentameter.)
   
  There is a novelization of the script, and the movie is described as "reimagined".
   
  Sigh.

    Not *exactly*.  I don't think Neil Gaiman has done a Beowulf comic.  He just cowrote the screenplay.  I'm a big Gaiman fan, but the movie looks awfully goofy to me.
