[Bards] Query

Wouldn't that be more akin to using a piano or cello (or perhaps a
recorded/synthesized) accompaniment, rather than a tiorba/harpischord/viol?

Substituting modern methods or materials for period ones is entirely
different than leaving the work out altogether.
