[Bg-dance] Choreography for John Tallow's Canon

Here's the choreography for John Tallow's Canon that we are dancing for the
Candle Dance.

Please try to review, if possible at home with your partner, if not, at
least in your head.

If the weather isn't bad next Tuesday, perhaps those of us who are out at
PiP could practice for 30 min.

See everybody who can next Sunday!

Choreography for John Tallow¹s Canon
Two couples, lord and lady stand across from each other in a cross formation
Couple #2 will be four beats behind Couple #1 except for during reverences
 
Number of Beats            Step Description
4              Reverence to head of hall (during the drum beats)
4              Reverence to partner (during the violin
 
 
8              Step in, Step out, Bransle left, Bransle Right
8              Two doubles to switch places with a slight honor in the
middle, turn to stay facing partner
8              Step in, Step out, Bransle left, Bransle Right
8              Two doubles to switch places, with a slight honor in the
middle, turn to stay facing partner
8              Right-hand star (Remember 2nd couple will join 1Ž2 way around)
4              Make a ³S² shape separating from the star (end facing
partner)
4                        Bransle left, Bransle Right
8              Left-hand star (Remember 2nd couple will join 1Ž2 way around)
4              Make a ³S² shape separating from the star (end facing
partner)
4                        Bransle left, Bransle right
Repeat until music ends, then everyone reverences
 
 
 
Notes for performing:
1)   Remember to have fun! If you aren¹t having fun, the audience won¹t
either
2)   Try to keep your steps crisp and precise.  However, if you make a
mistake, pretend like a cat and ³Mean² to have done the mistake
3)   Try to keep the level the same on ³raising² the candles to meet.
4)   Smile!!!!
