[Bordermarch] Cooking, Word Fame

Cooks at the unique RavensMarch event are to be thanked:
 
    We all hope the cooks who set up as food vending businesses in the 
marketplace met with success.
    In behalf of the Bordermarch Cooks' Guild, I would like to 
acknowledge the detailed planning and efforts of good M'Lady Elizabeth 
of Green Mountains Keep & M'lord Santiago of Green Mountains Keep for 
planning, preparing, setting up, serving, and breaking down the midday 
Feildside Feed at RavensMarch. Elizabeth cooked the gumbo; Santiago 
carved the distinct attention-getting wooden war horse, and he posted 
his original design wrought iron sconces at each pole of the pavillion.  
    Additional "Thank you-s" for service in this endeavor go to:  Lord 
Phocas, Lady Maisie,  M'lady Suzanna,  Lady Donnel, Lady Kathileen 
Hamilton, Lady Kemela & Lord Aaron Whitewolf, HL Anne, along with the 
inspiration sparked by Their Excellencies of Bordermarch and Their 
(retiring) Excellencies of Ravens Fort, as well as my beloved stronger 
half: Count Simonn.
    In keeping with the long held traditions at the BorderKeep, 
plentiful food was to be had, with soft breads and a short pan of 
brisket besides a chicken-sausage gumbo.  Several individuals 
contributed desserts to Elizabeth & Santiago's gumbo fare, including 
Lady Quendolyn's applesauce cake of King Edward's era, HE Caitrin's 
cakes (chocolate, pineapple) and  her Aloha fudge; there were also 
cherries cordial, an apple "dump"-ling dessert, and maybe other sweets I 
failed to learn about.  The meal was well received and appreciated upon 
the chill of battlefield.  It is felt that those beside the field whose 
sight or sense of smell detected the hearty war-spread were able to come 
partake of the warm gumbo, fruit, cheese, minted lemonade, and tasty 
desserts to satiate their appetites the rejoin the frey of battles.
    Not only did Santiago and Elizabeth prepare the vast amounts of 
gumbo and decorate the pavillion, but during the busiest parts of their 
morning preparations, they made breakfast for those of us in their 
service crew and later allowed several of us to make use of their 
kitchen set-up to warm our evening meals.  Vivat for the servants' 
hearts of Santiago and Elizabeth, and congratulations to them for a job 
well done!
