To assist Katrina survivors, a Benefit Auction of Lunches is to be conducted at Bordermarch Autumn Melees:

Individuals or Households are encouraged, ney, challenged (!) to provide and donate a Box Lunch for a private Benefit Auction to raise discretionary funding, conducted at the forthcoming Bordermarch Autumn Melees. All proceeds will be donated for disaster relief for Hurrican Katrina survivors.

Picnic type meals of any sort [contemporary, ethnic, period] with an amount of food and drink to serve 4 to 6 people, make interesting items to bid upon particularly if having a "theme" such as added stuffed animals, painted mugs, drinking glasses, candy bowl, fragrances, a vase of flowers, table linens, a an item of garb, a CD or DvD or book... Use your creativity to make an interesting and hearty November picnic meal.

These luches could be packed in baskets, boxes, or small styro coolers or could be vouchers for a site lunch from any of the site vendors who wish to participate in this worthy relief.

Lunches may be presented to a person at Melees gate or morning Court who is delegated to steward the Benefit Auction. You may want to (1) list the contents with number of servings and (2) suggest a minimum bid.
The Auction will be conducted in the style of silent bids written on a bid sheet with the winning bids announced at the specified time. Chilled drinks for the lunches may be separated into a commons cooler to be collected at the time of purchase.

Appreciation in advance to all who provide and donate for this relief.
