Decades ago, Bards were heard to sing this after the Skull had vanished into the mists...

The Crystal Skull rose like a serpent from the sea
Now the scorched land smolders and their curse is history.
 
Two found wives, one chose religion,
One returned to his wilderness home.
 
One kept his oath to the Bordermarch Baron
And stayed behind to fight his battles alone.
 
And of the two wild marauders who led the Skull
Who came from the blue sea lanes,
Grim warnings are whispered around warm hearth fires
For they sailed to join . . .

The Skull hasn't been seen in Ansteorra for many years, Baron of Bordermarch, though some would make wild claims of one of them wandering the lands.  Be wary of what you seek, Santiago...if they may come, look to the sea.
