Hi,
I'm not part of the SCA but am sincerely interested in it, but at this time I'm not in a position to start going to things. That said, the reason I'm writing is that I have a chainmalle question, all of yall seem to know a great deal of history and have common sense. I have heard that old chainmalle hauberks had a slit up the back that had leather straps(or thongs if that what you want to call them) binding them together for sizing ect.. I have researched this online but could only come up with a mixed opinion. My question, In history(or in you're own travels) has anyone ever come across a hauberk that had a "sizing slit" all the way down the back? In you're own opinion, is a slit a good idea? Or is it just something somebody made up? Thanks for you're time,

Travis
